Tucked away in the heart of Hastings, nestled inside the welcoming walls of The Grumpy Cook café, something special is brewing – and we’re not just talking about the coffee. Every second Wednesday, a small but mighty community of local men gather for what’s quickly becoming a staple in the mental health and wellbeing calendar: The Grumpy Men’s Club.
Feeling a bit grumpy? Good. You’re not alone – and you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
A Place for good food, good company and good conversation
More than just a catchy name, the Grumpy Men’s Club offers a genuine space for men of all ages to connect, unwind, and simply be. Whether you’re coming along for a full breakfast, a hot drink, or just the company, the vibe is relaxed, friendly, and free of judgement.
There’s no pressure to talk – but plenty of opportunity to do so. Some conversations are deep. Some are silly. And some are about absolutely nothing at all. And that’s the point: sometimes, just showing up and being around other men who “get it” is enough.

"Tonight’s Men’s club was strangely silent during dinner, I take that as good sign"
n a world where so many guys are told to “man up” or bottle things in, spaces like these are gold dust. The Grumpy Men’s Club is about community, consistency, and comfort. It’s a reminder that there’s power in small moments – in a shared joke, a story swapped over toast, or a nod of understanding from across the table.
Whether you’re feeling on top of the world or a little out of sorts, you’re always welcome. This isn’t a therapy session. It’s not a meeting. It’s just a chance to hang out with other men who know that sometimes the best medicine is a good brew and a listening ear.

Be a part of the movement - just make sure its on a full stomach!
